Calgary+ Montana!

We said bye to Beth in the morning and wished her good luck on her knee.

Went and skated Millenium in the morning.

Fred rolled into this 16ft vert bowl. It was nuts. That thing was deep.

Everyone seshed it, while we waited for Laura Silva to join the tour. We headed down to the border--- hassle free. Drove through the epic Glacier National park. We even saw a bear!

Montana has been so good to us. We rolled into Whitefish after a long day of driving. We skated the park and met local Jeff Alstad. Jeff was super rad and let us camp at his place. Fred skated the bowl and made some sick transfers. Tamara skated this huge elevated platform. She stuck the 50-50s, but took some gnarly body slams trying to 180 out.

In the morning we hustled down to Polson, where the park superintendent came and said hi to us. She was stoked to hear a van of girls came out from California.

Then we went to the 52 skatepark where Jayme and Dylan greeted us with a bunch of rad girls tearing up the park. Dylan just finished the outdoor ramp! The local news came out and did a piece. Local shredders included Kim Petersen, Rayla, Kayleigh, Annika Ayers and tons more. The local girls were charging the park! It was so rad to meet the Missoula gals.

Day 5 + 6 Calgary, AB the Texas of Canada.

Yeah for the Nenninger's! We slept in beds for 2 nights, had hot meals, showered, and did our laundry. Calgary has been sweet.

Day 5
We loaded the van and rolled to the Westside park, where Anne Klazek and the See Jane Crew were set up and ready to roll for the contest.

After a little rest, girls headed out to Shane's miniramp.
Tamara was practicing some nose blunts to fakie, but then got an owwwwie... with blood everywhere.

When we got back we celebrated Chrissie's birthday

Recap of Day 3 + 4: We love Canada!

Day 2 after picking up Fred Luyet from the airport we stopped in Bellingham and skated the park there before we hit the boarder to Vancouver.

We drove up a little late, I (Nancy) got everyone pulled into immigration for like a 30 min detour (long story), before we could head to Van. Michelle let us crash at her house. We were greeted by Will + cats. We packed all of us on the floor.

Day 3
We woke up and hit the Plaza at 10:30 am!

We met up with Tamara Drybrough (who's been skating the contest circuit all summer long, fresh from the X-games!) and Beth Nenninger (who took one for the team on the West Coast Tour - she messed her knee up). We also met up with Caroline and Katrina + friend who rode with us over to Strathcona.

Rolled up to Strathcona where our hostess Michelle, and Majestic Unicorns (Rhiananon, Natalie, and Erika!) + a host of other gals like Rose, Shara + Lauren, Kim were waiting for us.

Clinics were so fun! We had tons of kids rolling around.
Thanks Walrus (Sam), Nikita, DVS, and Concrete Wave for throwing down on some product for the clinic!

Amazing turnout! Michelle slaved away all day making some pretty amazing vegan kabobs.

We love Vancouver! Tons of great people at the movie premier like local music prodigy Tyler Fedchuk.

We love Vancouver, Michelle, Anitsocial, Majestic Unicorns, and all the girls + guys that have been stoked on the Winnipeg or Bust (WoB)! The skate scene in Van is awesome!

Day 4
6 am left Michelle's and got on the great trans-canadian hwy.
We picked up Caroline Samorodin for the tour!
10:30 am got to Kamloops park and skated there til 2pm. Nina took some still portraits. Sydney did some action shops. Beth and Tamara busted out the baby and filmed for a bit. It was so hot.

4pm We stopped and swam at Shuswap it was awesome.
12 am arrived at Beth's parents in Calgary!

Bye Seattle, hello Vancouver.

Today was a mellow skate day.

Got up, cleaned van, skated Greenlake and Skatebarn.

New additions today: Chrissie Lathrop (Nomadic), Chelsea Mullins (Skatebarn) and Fred Luyet (Skirtboarders / Sitka)

Yeah! Van loaded and ready to pick up more girls.

Winnipeg or Bust! Stop #1 Sea Sk8

Tons of gals out skating under the instruction of Carrie and her Rooks crew!

What a fun turnout! Skate Like a Girl tour are getting amped for the long journey to Winnipeg. Tomorrow skate stops include: Greenlake, Marginal, Bellevue Plaza, and end up at Skatebarn for a clinic at 4 followed by a demo!

Then a quick stop to pick up Fred Luyet, and Nina Suesstrunk's luggage that took a journey without her. Roll into Vancouver at night!

Winnipeg or Bust Tour starts Aug 4

Hot on the heels of the Shh Just let this happen tour. Skate Like a Girl presents Winnipeg or Bust!, a van full of international female skaters weaving in-between the US and Canada to skate! The tour starts in Seattle, WA, traveling north to Vancouver, Calgary, Missoula, Winnipeg, and everywhere in between - teaching girls and women to skate, performing demos and competing in See Jane Skate (seejaneskate.com) and Chicks Flip Out (chicksflipout.com)! The mission is to promote girl’s skateboarding!
